Clinical Directors
Vana Ekmekjian-Thomson, MSW, LCSW
As a therapist, I am committed to walk alongside you as a partner in your healing. My goal is to support you through life’s challenges and help you tap into your inner strength and resilience to achieve your desired goals. Through a strong therapeutic partnership, we can work toward creating balance in your mind, body, and spirit. My aim is to help you reclaim a sense of wholeness, find peace within yourself, and thrive in all areas of life.
I offer counseling for individuals, couples, and families, tailoring my approach to each client’s needs. My work combines Psychodynamic and Humanistic methods to address deeper emotional wounds and unresolved trauma, while utilizing practical tools from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to help you cope with anxiety, stress, strengthen emotional regulation skills, manage OCD symptoms, and/or address challenges with executive functioning. For couples, I also utilize the Gottman Method to enhance communication, resolve conflicts, and strengthen emotional bonds. By blending these therapeutic approaches, each client receives unique and specialized care, designed to nurture emotional well-being and inner healing.
Vana is an adjunct professor of social work at Ramapo College, and brings experience as a clinician in various outpatient settings including schools, mental health agencies as a clinician for children and staff, and private practice.
Rosine Baklayan-Fares, MSW, LCSW
At the core of my work is a belief in the importance of guiding you through the ups and downs of your healing journey, recognizing that healing is not a linear path. I understand that growth and change come with both progress and setbacks, and I’m committed to supporting you through it all. I focus on addressing unresolved trauma, anxiety, and emotional struggles with an approach that nurtures the connection between mind, body, and spirit.
I offer counseling for individuals, adolescents, children, and families, focusing on building a strong, safe therapeutic relationship to support healing and growth. Trained in Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), I help clients explore deep emotions, strengthen connections, and address relational challenges. My approach blends EFT, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and attachment-based theories to meet each person’s unique needs. For children, I integrate play therapy to create a comfortable space for them to process emotions, express their needs, and develop coping skills. Whether working with individuals, families, or children, my goal is to help you heal, grow, find peace, and move forward in confidence, using an approach tailored to your unique journey.
Rosine has a wide range of experience in working with children and families in settings including schools, mental health agencies, nonprofits, and private practice.
About Our Practice
We opened Providence Center for Therapy in 2024, with the desire to create a haven for individuals, couples, and families to share their heart and experience personal and collective growth. Here, we believe that the foundation of true, and complete well-being lies in the harmony of mind, body, and spirit. We are committed to guiding our clients toward deeper emotional health, fostering resilience, and helping to restore a sense of balance in their lives. At the core of our work, we believe in finding and addressing the root cause of your challenges and giving you the tools to overcome them, which will make inner healing possible.
